All vehicles with electric motors (scooters, electric scooters) must be approved for use in Switzerland (type tested) and may only become a vehicle driven in normal traffic by obtaining a moped number plate. Electric scooters ride on the road, usually wherever bikes are en route. Authorised vehicles receive third-party liability insurance (all-inclusive) with the annual driving permit issued in Switzerland for mopeds and are therefore insured against accidents with third parties.
